How to Create a QR Code for Your Business — Free Generator
QR codes have made a permanent comeback. Restaurant menus, business cards, product packaging, event posters — they appear everywhere. Generating one takes 10 seconds and costs nothing.
Generate QR Code Free →What can a QR code link to?
- Website URL: Direct visitors to your homepage or a specific landing page
- Google Maps: Link to your business location for easy navigation
- WhatsApp: Pre-fill a message to your business number
- PDF menu or brochure: Host on Google Drive and link to the share URL
- Social media profile: Instagram, LinkedIn, or any platform URL
- Payment link: UPI, PayPal, or Razorpay payment URLs
- Plain text: WiFi passwords, short instructions, contact information
QR code size for print
Download at the highest resolution available. For print use:
- Business card: minimum 2cm × 2cm (800px at 300 DPI)
- A4 poster: minimum 4cm × 4cm
- Outdoor banner: minimum 8cm × 8cm
Always test your printed QR code by scanning it before large print runs.
QR code best practices
- Always include a short URL hint below the QR code ("Scan to view menu")
- Leave white space (quiet zone) around the code — do not crop edges
- Test at the smallest size you plan to print it
- Use a dark code on a white or light background (not the reverse)
- For business use, use a URL shortener so you can change the destination without reprinting
How long does a QR code last?
Forever, if the URL it points to stays live. If the website goes down, the QR code stops working. Use a URL shortener (like bit.ly) so you can redirect the code even after printing.
Can I put a logo inside a QR code?
QR codes have built-in error correction that allows up to 30% of the pattern to be obscured. A small logo in the centre works — but always test that it still scans reliably after adding the logo.
